Who are YOU?
Because, as an ex-smoker, I would have loved to meet Alice's caterpillar. And because I read this post on Meg's blog lips so facto and thought it was a nice idea.
me, a few years back. |
Vital Stats:
Name: Lucia
Nicknames: Lu, Gazza, Silla, Divyna (am ashamed of the last one, but I can explain)
Birthday: 11th December
Place of Birth: Cesena, Italy
Zodiac sign: Sagittarius
Occupation: right now cake eater, but have a job waiting for me in Belgium in a few weeks.
Appearance:
Hair colour: brunette, but I have tried them all.
Hair length: not sure, they're too curly to know, but quite long.
Eye colour: deep brown.
Best feature: my eyes. And my feet.
Braces: nope. But I have a very open relationship with the dentist, so we'll see what the future brings.
Piercings: earlobes and nose, until when one night I woke up and decided it was time to say goodbye to grunge.
Tattoos: one, a flower fairy on my lower back, that I keep forgetting.
Righty of Lefty: not sure what this means.. but my mum always says "if you are lost and don't know where to go, go left".
Firsts:
Best friend: Chiara, and I still love her dearly
Award: uhm.. is it sad if I can't think of any? It probably is. I guess it is linked to the fact that I have a problem ending the things I started, but let's pretend it isn't.
Sport: skating when I was a child, and then many years of classical ballet. Recently yoga, and a lot of exercise bike.
Real Holiday: not sure what "real" stands for.. I'll go with "the most important": India, 6 months of wonders. Will I ever go back? - she wanders.
Concert: Francesco de Gregori.
Favourites
Film: almost anything with a bit of english countryside. Or grungy, like Clerk's or Chasing Amy. And then, in my teenage years, definitely Reality Bites. I really can't answer, I'm sure I am forgetting the ones I love the most. Does this not happen to you too?
TV Show: Gilmore Girls. No, Pippi Longstocking.
Colour: at the moment black, but let's be honest, I do love my powdery pastels.
Song: blank, again. I know I love Tom Waits, Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley and his dad, Vinicio Capossela and Lucio Battisti, De André and Musica Nuda. And my boyfriend's, of course.
Restaurant: Mango Tree, in Hampi, south India. It had this incredible swing hanged on the tallest of trees, and you could fly for hours. Under you only rocks, far far far down.
Store: my mum's closet has some pretty cool bags. As for clothes I should probably say Zara, but I do love markets, and the idea that you have something no one else has. I've been in love with Café Bohème for the last couple of years, a must see if you want to shop in Rimini.
Book: L'Arte della Gioia, by Goliarda Sapienza, and Everything is Illuminated, by J. Safran Foer. And A LOT of Jane Austen.
Magazine: D, Vogue Italia, Marie Claire Italia.
Shoes: a pair of black leather boots. Am poorly without a pair of those.
Currently...
Feeling: not in the mood to wash my hair.
Single or Taken: Taken with daugher.
Eating: just had a lovely piadina and a lot of cake. Might need some alcohol, now that I think of it.
Listening to: my cat purring.
Thinking about: that Mulberry bag I really want to order online.
Watching: at what time I have to jump on a train tomorrow to go to a Christmas lunch with some of the best people in the world.
Wearing: a pair of jean that swears it was skinny before this week in Italy, my new pair of boots, and some tops' cocktail mix I am ashamed to mention.
Future:
Want Children: been there done that!
Want to be married: yes, I'll have to justify this ring on my finger at some point!
Careers in mind: dreaming? becoming a decent writer.
Where do you want to live: where I feel at home.
Do you believe in:
God: yes.
Miracles: yes. If anybody has one spare, could you please buy me that Mulberry bag?
Love at first sight: yes. It has happened to me in the past. Does not mean it is a clever move, though.
Ghosts: yes.
Aliens: not sure, but prefer not to think about it.
Soul Mates: yes, and of many different kinds. But you have to be willing to look for them.
Heaven: Yes.
Hell: Not sure.
Kissing on the first date: seriously?
Yourself: not easy, but apparently I believe in everything else!
There, done!

In my secret life
Hold on, hold on, my brother.
My sister, hold on tight.
I finally got my orders.
I’ll be marching through the morning,
Marching through the night,
Moving cross the borders

Happy birthday to me!
I know it is probably excessive, but I couldn't resist.
Oh, well, if a girl can't feel special on her birthday, when then?

Good reasons to fall for him
He's far far away.
He doesn't have a proper job.
He can't boil an egg but knows by heart the ml for the perfect gin and tonic.
His tatoos don't match the Christmas tree's decorations.

Scrub baby, scrub
It was a cold evening, and I met a guy that would not let me go.
We wandered around Bologna until sunrise, and he told me I had the softest skin his hands had ever touched.
I haven't seen him since, but I slapped him in the face before I said goodbye.
As for my skin, this is what has nourished it lately:
Gommage Douche au Bouleau, Weleda: to be used once a week, or more if you need something to wake you up. Its citrucy smell fills the bathroom, and its "fines perles naturelles" leave your skin soft and smooth. It contains many natural essential oils, lactic acid and birch oil, which helps curing cellulite.
(would not expect too much from the last ingredient, even if we all like to believe there is a way to overcome women's number one enemy.)
Sweet Almond Oil with Vitamine E, L'Amande: after scrubbing I massage my body with it, which for me is how Paradise should smell like. It keeps the skin soft and elastic, and it is supposed to to fight skin blemishes. It is enriched with vitamin E, that prevents the skin from ageing, and does no contains artificial substances.
Gel Douche Exfoliant Douceur & Lait Corporel Fondant, Rites Originels: I had bought it for the sufi boyfriend, because he likes those sweet moroccans smells (he's manly like that), but ended up emptying the bottle of the exfoliant. It smells of winter, velvet, soft blankets and lit candles, but apparently it is just the smell of Argan oil. So much for imagination. It is definitely a scent for the colder months, and it stays on the skin until the next day. I guess this means you have to like Argan, and I can honestly say I do.

And then some days you feel happy. Just like that. Everything is easy, you feel good in your skin and smile to the world.
If you were a puzzle, it would mean that you'd had found the missing pieces.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I smell moroccan pastries!

I want u back, maybe even for good
The lipstick because you have to try it and then you'll agree with me: it is super moisturizing, super flattering, it goes with everything and it makes you feel oh so chic!
The moisturizer because I can only find it in Italy, and my face misses it desperately. Light, with a fresh smell, packed with Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramids and Omega 6. Do I have to go on?
The eye cream because I can pretend to be a teenager but my wrinkle can't tell a lie.
The coffee because it is not the same without them, and the chocolate to pretend it is them.
